  The main goals for Scrapy 0.9 are:

  • implement the core refactoring (SEP-009)
  • library API (SEP-004)
  • signal refactoring (#19)
  • New CrawlSpider with pluggable url canonicalizers (#99) and better response dispatching mechanism.

  Other nice-to-have features (whose implementation will highly depend on community support) are:

  • persistent scheduler
  • new process models (SEP-011) with a REST API (SEP-010)
